Worksops: Background

The Beit Kobi non-profit organization, which was established in honor and in memory of Kobi Ichelbom, operates according to the values of Kobi as a person and as a commander. Kobi enlisted in the Givati Brigade, completed training as a combat soldier and chose a command course for training young combat soldiers.
Throughout his Army service, Kobi earned certificates of excellence. His soldiers and commanders testify that his outstanding characteristics were humanity and modesty, dedication and loyalty, honesty and compassion. He was called “A man of honor.” Three values were his guiding lights: home and family, friendship and love of the land.”

Kobi was aware of the importance of family and believed in doing everything possible to strengthen the family nucleus that could serve as a warm support system for young recruits and IDF soldiers.

Throughout his Army service Kobi made many efforts to care for soldiers who came from a different background than him, and encouraged them to get the most out of their service for their vitality and personal development.
"It’s not a big deal, becoming a good soldier when you come from a home like mine; the big deal is to take someone with difficulties and help him succeed" (Kobi Ichelbom, O.B.M)
Taking into account that the commander is the most meaningful image in the lives of lone soldiers, Beit Kobi runs enrichment workshops for commanders in all command channels. The workshops stimulate thought and emotional experience regarding the human traits of the man behind his rank and position, and stress the great importance of personal contact in the interaction between a commander and his soldiers, by emphasizing an understanding of the needs of the lone soldier.

Workshop Goals
